The Core Knowledge Foundation regrets that, despite our best efforts, some errors do occur in our publications.  The following list identifies errors and supplies corrections.

Correction to The New First Dictionary of Cultural Literacy

On page xi of the forward, Dr. Hirsch says "A selection of some books that will help children learn more about the main topics we cover is provided in the back of the dictionary." There is no such list provided, we regret the error. If you are looking for recommended books, please see the publication Books to Build On and the Resources to Build On database.

Corrections to the K–8 Sequence

1999 Edition with Middle School Revision

4	105	Science	II. C.	Eliminate repetition of "oxygen"
5	127	Science	III. C.	4th bullet: omit comma after "insect" (that is, the entry should say "insect and bird pollination")
6	152	Science	II. Oceans	4th bullet: omit the last item on the page, which reads, "Elements needed for life, such as carbon and phosphorus, exist in relatively weak concentrations and limit the amount of ocean life."
