Courses taken through Cal State are graduate-level courses earning semester credit for professional development. These can be applied as a means towards movement on your district salary schedule or towards renewal of your credentials. (The units are not applicable for Master's degrees.)
You will earn one to two units for each Core Knowledge Preschool Training Module. CSUF requires payment of $90 per semester unit, and completion of a 12 page "Next Steps" paper in order to earn credit.
In order to receive credit, CSUF requires each student to attend a minimum of 15 hours for one semester unit or 30 hours for two units of the approved training. The participant must also submit to the instructor of record an acceptable "Next Steps" paper that meets the standards of an upper division-level paper. To receive credit, complete the "Verification of Hours" form and return it with your "Next Steps" paper to the instructor.
The "Next Steps" paper is not a summary report. You will select two or three of the workshops you attended and write a 12 (in total) page plan of how you will implement the information, strategies, and materials you received.

The Core Knowledge Foundation makes no claims to the transfer of CSUF credits to degree programs at other universities, recertification, etc. We strongly recommend that if you are interested in using these credits for such purposes, you verify their acceptance with the appropriate institutions prior to registration for course credit.
